Under the authorization of the China Post Group, the Hebei Post Group officially issued a series of special stamps titled "Beautiful Rivers and Mountains in Zhangjiakou" on July 31 to celebrate Beijing's successful bid for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games.
Along with Zhangjiakou City in north China's Hebei Province, Beijing was awarded by the International Olympic Committee the right to host the 2022 Winter Olympic Games at the final presentation held in Kuala Lumpur, capital city of Malaysia on the same day, making it the first city ever to host both the Summer and Winter Games.
The newly released special stamps are illustrated with the Great Wall, snowy mountains, urban construction and the city's logo. "Beautiful Rivers and Mountains in Zhangjiakou" metaphorically reveals a keen expectation on behalf of residents from all walks of life in the city for the upcoming Winter Olympics.
The special stamps were created by domestic, well-known stamp designer Yuan Jia.
