The China Post Group issued a collection of three stamps, namely "Beautiful Tibet", "Harmonious Tibet" and "Happy Tibet", on September 1 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the official establishment of Tibet Autonomous Region, and showcase the remarkable achievements made by local residents from all walks of life across the entire region over the past five decades.
Chinese Central Government signed a treaty with the local government in Tibet regarding the region's peaceful liberation in May 1951 and agreed to set up an autonomous regional government there in 1965. After that, the region has experienced sound development in all aspects under the firm leadership of Central Government and huge support from the public of all ethnic groups across the entire nation.
The latest stamps show aspects of Thang-ga culture (a kind of scroll painting used for worship by Tibetan Buddhists) and traditional Chinese painting techniques, with the goal of making a comprehensive reflection of the region in terms of its natural beauty, traditional culture, ecological environment, ethnic unity and economic prosperity.
Previously, the China Post Group had released four batches of stamps to celebrate the peaceful liberation of Tibet.
