To commemorate the 10th anniversary of regulations introduced to protect the Great Wall, China Post Group started a Great Wall stamp collecting activity on August 10 that includes the issuance of a special Great Wall stamp. Fifteen Great Wall themed postal offices were begun in nine provinces on that day.
Jointly organized by China Post Group, the Great Wall Society of China and the China Foundation for Cultural Heritage Conservation, the two-month event includes China Post branches in the seven provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions of Liaoning, Tianjin, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Ningxia and Gansu.
China Post Group is offering a series of products on Great Wall culture during the initiative, which incorporates publicizing Great Wall culture, the initial release ceremony for Great Wall stamps and stamp sampling activities.
Supporters also issued Great Wall protection themed postcards that will be distributed at participating post offices for free starting August 20.
