Branches of the China Post Group across the entire country have held an array of events to mark the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II and the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, including an exhibition of stamps related to the victory of Anti-Japan War and sales of souvenir postal items.
Meanwhile, the efforts have been met by a warm response from the public. For instance, many residents flooded into a post office located at the Lugou Bridge area in Beijing on August 15 to buy stamps with Anti-Japanese War themed post marks, and to send letters to their friends in far-off cities as a way to celebrate the special day.
Lugou Bridge was the scene of the "July 7th Incident, or the Lugou Bridge Incident", which is a prelude to the struggle of all the Chinese people against the Japanese aggression.
