The municipal branch of China Post Group in Baoding City, north China's Hebei Province, held a donation ceremony for local underprivileged children at Zhili Antique Township on January 10.
The initiative was officially launched on September 3, when China Post Group released special stamps in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the end of WWII and the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in Beijing.
At the inaugural event, the branch announced that it would donate 5 RMB (U.S. $ 0.76) to children from former revolutionary areas in the city, for every stamp sold.
So far, a total of 10,000 RMB (U.S. $ 1,518) has been raised for teenage beneficiaries.
